I can’t decide whether to complain or be delighted. I’ve caught a cold. But this time I had the sense to start taking Zicam right away. Now I know at this point normally my nose would be painfully raw and I’d be begging Damon to wander the city until he finds the tissues with lotion. I’m congested and kind of itchy-throated and tired, but I can tell that just three days in I’m starting to get ahead of it. But I am stuffy and icky, so I’m still wanting to complain.
Far and Away is on tv, and that’s helping too.

What is Zicam?
I use Alka Seltzer Cold Plus at the first sign of a cold. I use so much of it that I have considered just swallowing it whole, but managed to talk myself down from that near-certain tragic ending.

Zicam is essentially a combination of two kinds of zinc and it is, I think, the only medicine that’s proven to shorten the duration and lessen the symptoms of a cold. It hasn’t been a “cure” but I definitely think it’s helping.
