Who was it who posted the entry about what kind of gross things you’ll do when it comes to your kids? Because I was just holding Alden over my head and he drooled right into my mouth. And yet I did not move out of the red zone, because he was laughing and it was totally worth it.

On more than one occasion I have picked food out of Anya’s teeth with my very own fingernail – I did it last week, in fact. And I’ve picked Ezra’s nose several times. There’s no telling how many times the Georgelets have been the recipients of my, er, affection.

I do recall a day when my goddaughter was about three and she leaned over and barfed up a bellyful of blueberries all over my lap. And I was weirdly… flattered.

Right now Sabrina gets the biggest kick out of feeding other people things, but she is still completely unaware of how gross her food offerings are after she’s gummed them a bit. I let her feed me a few pieces of bread this morning. Totally gross. Totally worth it.
