I love the guy who delivers my mail at work. He’s so friendly that I believe we’re becoming pals. Our new game is when I get something weird in the mail I try to convince him that he would like to have it. This week it was one bottle of Diet Pepsi Caramel Cream soda. I gather this is a new product. Some PR person sent me the one plastic bottle wrapped in some sort of space-age chilling material that would allow me to drink the soda without delay (and possibly also to glow in the dark). It also came in enough packaging to make me write an apology to the polar bears. I declined to sample the drink, as did the mail guy. Someone bit, though. I stuck it in the kitchen and it was gone a few minutes later.
I do see why I wound up on that PR list. It makes sense. I’m less clear on why I’m getting repeated invitations to attend the screening of the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

I have sort of a weird crush on my mail guy here at work. He’s so darn happy all the time that I think he must have figured out life’s secrets. I theorize that he became a mail guy after achieving wild success in some other career and realizing that wasn’t what he wanted.
