I’m so thirsty. There are not enough bottles of water in the world. My new favorite treat is what we call “the seltzer juice.” 1/4 to 1/3 cup pomegranate juice and 3/4 to 2/3 lime seltzer water.

The punch line of my week is my doctor telling me to gain weight. It’s just a hard thing to synthesize being told. I’ve never been overweight, but never been underweight either. And suddenly, I don’t weigh enough. It’s no big deal and I think once I convinced her that I’m not resisting gaining she seemed satisfied. I’m still in the “Food? Food is gross” phase. I have it on good authority that will shortly change into something where no one’s dinner is safe.

In non-uterine news, I continue to drag my site kicking and screaming toward the relaunch. It’s scheduled for about two weeks from now. If I’ve been absent, and continue to be so until then, you will know why. It will be worth it as our new site is going to march out and massacre all other web sites with its awesomness. I will be sure to shamelessly plug it here when the time comes.

Minor Survivor Spoiler Alert
Does anyone here watch Survivor? Because all I can say about tonight is: Hooray! I hate a whiner. (Unless the whiner is funny.)

My work is done for the day, so I’m going to grab my Battlestar Galactica podcast and let Ron Moore talk me to sleep.

  1. Yeah, as you get further into the second trimester, you will probably find your appetite returning. I had a couple things that put me off for the duration (chicken was one, which is funny, because apparently carnivore moms are usually repelled by red meat). It’s not really until the last couple months that you really should seriously start gaining weight, anyway.

    • You’re right. My appetite is actually better than it was when I wrote that post.
I figure, I’m healthy and I’ll gain what I gain. I don’t normally allow anyone to comment on or otherwise make me uncomfortable about my weight and I don’t plan to start now.

  6. I gained 25 pounds my first pregnancy, and despite that being in the recommended range I had a nurse accuse me of dieting. I ate everything I wanted! You aren’t supposed to fatten up like you’ll be judged at the county fair. Stay healthy by eating tons of protein and take a prenatal. I barely gained weight in my first trimester either time; you might just not be a big gainer.
My breakfast recommendation: yogurt and frozen fruit smoothies with a scoop of soy protein.

    • Thanks for the recommendation. I’m barely functional in the morning, but maybe I’ll try to make some smoothies the night before and see if I can get a grab-and-go routine working.

  16. Both pregnancies I gained all my weight at the end. This time I was “underweight” until about halfway through but I more than made up for it in the last few months. I wouldn’t worry about what the doctor says as long as you are eating healthily.

  21. I watch, and wonder how she could possibly have been surprised that she was toast. And I delight every time Yau-Man bests Mookie at something after the crack Mookie made about him a week or two ago. Yau-Man all the way!
I caught wind of Battlestar webisodes that came between seasons 2 and 3 and found and watched all of them this morning. Now I’m ready for season 3, which Daniel says he’ll try to find and put on a cd for me, so I can be caught up and ready to go when season 4 starts in 2008. 2008!? Do they think they’re ‘The Sopranos’ or something? Frack that!

    • I know! 2008! So wrong. And while I will watch the Pegasus thing in the fall, it is absolutely not going to keep me from complaining.
I do wonder how she could complain about being asked to leave anything at any time. Truly. I would vote her off my soccer team, my book club, my brunch group, you name it.

    • Apparently, part of the reason for pushing BSG back into 2008 is a budget thing. I don’t imagine that show is cheap. In the meantime, we’ll have to resign ourselves to a Pegasus movie, complete with the original cast.

Every week, I will enjoy watching him not be allowed to talk. Both of them, now. And then all that pent-up bile will spill out at the final Tribal Council.
