We got a full-price offer on our apartment today. Cautious hooray!
Cautious because we won’t have a signed contract for about two weeks (the lawyers have to do their thing now) and we still have to get them past the board. But it’s reasonable to think we’re going to make it. They clearly want the apartment. They’re already approved by the bank. And she’s pregnant and due in early September. That means there’s going to have to be a lot of hustle to close before their baby comes.
They want us to cover up to $5k of their closing costs. We said we’d do it provided that’s the end of the negotiations. We don’t want to deal with requests for concessions for cosmetic issues (one of our counters has a small burn mark, the refrigerator has a little rust on the side, etc). I know from my mom’s experience (she was a realtor) that you can get caught up for weeks debating things like that.
Okay, our open house is over. Time for us to go home. I’m hoping that there will only be two more. (We’ll keep doing them until the contract is signed.)
But… it looks like we could be moving oh-so soon. Look out Atlanta — we’ll be down to see you!
