Is this thing on?

Thank you to TravelLight for the tip on how to get photos into my blog. I haven’t mastered anything like thumbnails or sizing of any type, but this is a great start. So maybe for the next few posts, regardless of topic, I will include a Westminster photo. Because they’re really fun.

How are you web-savvy people putting photos in your journals?
I went to the doctor today and she immediately sent me over to the emergency room, where Damon and I spent most of the day while they decided if my pancreas was somehow on the blink. After much poking and testing I said that I really was feeling better and would like to go home. They gave me this miraculous medicine that you drink. I did it and said, “Oh my gosh, my lips and mouth just went numb.” And the nurse said, “Yup, and now it’s going to hit your stomach and that will help.” And it did. So I’m still tender and pain-free only when sitting still, but that’s much better than I was this afternoon.
And I know that Jesus loves me. How do I know? Because the huge meeting tomorrow that I was fretting so hard because I was out of pocket — postponed.

Home from London
As you may have guessed by the subject line, we made it onto the Friday flight.
I have a mental backlog of things to take up in the LJ. I haven’t even talked about the Westminster Dog Show yet. I fear the dog prom may have to slip away unrecorded.
And tonight won’t be a great night for writing either. As we were only there for two days there was no time for shopping, and so I didn’t bring anything back. Except food poisoning. Driving from London to Manchester, flying from Manchester to New York and getting home from Newark airport while burning with fever, staggering around dizzy and, oh yeah, barfing up everything that passed my lips, including sips of water and medicine is something that I’ll not soon forget.

BAD
You may be thinking: Isn’t she supposed to be in England right now?
Last night there was a huge snarl on the NJ Turnpike that added over an hour to our trip time. We got to the airport about half an hour before the flight, which is half an hour after the deadline for international, and they had already given our seats away.
We’re going to try again today. But now we’re standby and they told me that our flight is already overbooked because of the blizzard earlier this week.
So chances are excellent we’re not going anywhere.
If we don’t, we can get a credit, but Continental charges a $200 change fee PER TICKET. So if we try again (not that I’ll get a 4-day weekend again until Thanksgiving) we’ll have to put out another $400 plus any difference in the ticket price.
There’s no way for me to express my disappointement without sounding hyperbolic, so I’ll just leave it at that.
